The Vodka Martini is amongst the classics, and an excellent cocktail to showcase quality vodka. It’s easy to mix, with only 3 ingredients (vodka, dry vermouth, and some bitters) so anyone can master it. Many will argue, it’s not a real Martini, because it’s not made with gin and they will be half right. Vodka Martini is a variation of the classic gin Martini, but that doesn’t make it a lesser cocktail. It has always been a popular and classy choice at the bar, and if anyone, James Bond will agree with us, since he’s known to love Martini’s quite a lot (shaken, not stirred). 😀

Also known as the “Kangaroo cocktail”, Vodka Martini is an American creation that became popular around the 1950s when vodka entered the US market. Like most of the 1st vodka cocktails, this one is simply a recreation of a classic gin-based drink, but with vodka.
