Aperol Spritz – a taste of Italy
Aperol Spritz is the taste of summer in Italy. Super fresh, bubbly, and not too sweet. It’s a simple combination of Aperol, Prosecco, and club soda in a wine glass filled with ice. Throw in an orange slice for garnish and that’s perfection. So easy… no need for any bar tools, and it only takes a minute to prepare.
Aperol can be traced back to the year 1919 in Padua, Italy. Low on alcohol, very aromatic with a bittersweet flavor, making it the perfect pre-dinner drink. The cocktail, however, became popular in the 1950s, inspired by the Venetian mix of white wine and soda. While you can combine any sparkling wine with Aperol and soda, you would need Italian bubbly for the true Aperol Spritz. Proseccos can be from sweet to dry, so pick the one that matches your taste, make yourself a drink and relax.
Ingredients:
- 2 ½ Ounces (75 ml) Prosecco.
- 2 Ounces (60 ml) Aperol.
- Club Soda.
- Orange slice for garnish.
How do we make an Aperol Spritz? Easy…
- Find a wine glass and fill it up with ice.
- Add your Prosecco and Aperol.
- A Dash of soda.
- Garnish with an orange slice.
- Enjoy the flavor of Italy.
If you prefer it less bitter, you can always put less Aperol and more Prosecco or just add 25ml of fresh orange juice for extra sweetness.
